Delicious by Nature: Going Bananas for Granola

  • Chef Shoshana · 7 months ago
My friend gave me a granola recipe using banana as the sweetener during the holidays and I still need to try making it! I think this weekend I'll have to make both your almond milk and the banana granola. Thanks for the inspiration :-)

This looks like something I'll have to try. I love how it doesn't use tons of sugar and oil. Thanks!

Ooh, I've never made my own granola, but this recipe has me intrigued. Will probably try it later this week. Thanks!

Sounds yummy! How long do you think it will keep before spoiling?

Oh this is great! Just today I promised my husband I'd make him some good homemade granola so he'll stop buying it for $3.99/lb. Thank you!

I just posted about healthy granola today too, love that you use a banana in this! I was thinking of using pumpkin next time in mine :)

I love homemade granola. My recipe uses maple syrup, butter, and brown sugar but in very small amounts compared to all the good stuff (flax, oats, wheat bran). I'll be posting it soon as well. I never though of using banana though, and think it is a FAB idea!

This is great! I will definitely be making it. I love the reduced sugar due to the banana. A wonderful idea. I love granola and am always looking for ways to make it a bit healthier without fake ingredients. Thanks!

Thanks for all of the great comments.

This is definitely cheaper than the store-bought stuff and you can sweeten it as much you like by adding little by little for yours (or your hubby's tastes).

Brooke - I think this should keep about a week. Though if you kept it packed up in the fridge or even freezer I don't see why it couldn't last a few weeks or longer! Just remember it doesn't have all of those preservatives that you find in your supermarket ones, so a cold place would be your best bet.
